May 3 I logged into Vericrest online and requested a payoff amount. May 17 I recieved a letter from Vericrest with a payoff amount of $ 351.00 and no other charges. I have 4 canceled checks showing that they have all been processed in amount of $124.00 each. These payments were cashed on the following dates: May 21, June 6, July 20 and Aug 21.
July 21 statement reflects no payment in June and 2 payments on July 20 with $124.00 late fee. August 21 statements reflects no payment on July 31 however there were 2 payments for August 21 and another late fee in the amount of $124.00.
Total late fees are now $457.00 for 3 months. This is a scam, I have never been late, this does not make sense, my pay off was $ 351.00 on May 17 and with 4 payments of 496.00 they owe me money, $145.00. I have called, emailed and written to them. How do I get this issue resolved? They continue to add 124.00 every month to this loan calling it late fees however there was no late fees as of May 17.
