Services unfair payment processing practices, Salinas

I called them today to see why a payoff check for 600 had not posted to my account yet. I mailed their payment on friday 7 days prior to this call. They reported they had not received my payment. I found this very curious since my payment was due today 9/3. They informed me that they do not honor the post mark and a late fee would be charged if the payment did not post today. I am closing the account today. I asked them how to do so and after they tried to keep me they said I did not need to send any notification and that they would send me confirmation of the account being closed within 7-10 days No further action would be required.

I told them my payoff was about 9 dollars short and they said they would send 1 more bill to pay that off and I could pay that and that was all I needed to do. I will let you know if its goes awry as I am very suspicious of them.
