Complaint / Review
Ocwen Federal Bank
Rip-off! I am going to lose my home whether i pay them or not. Unkept promises!

I have been with Ocwen for the past 2 years after I refinanced my house with another mortgage company. The company I refinanced with transferred my mortgage over to Ocwen 2 months after I signed the papers with them. Also, I never signed any papers with Ocwen. Anyways, I have been reading all the complaints about Ocwen for the past 2 weeks and I am glad I am not the only one.

My nightmare began with Ocwen in January. My husband and I was 2 months behind in our mortgage payments at that time because I had been out of work for about 3 months and my husband had a heart attack and had to have a triple bypass.in December, I received a foreclosure notice.By the end of December, I had spoken to a customer service representative who had offered us a forebarence if we could send them a partial payment and the remaining due would be spread out over the next 6 months. No forebarence or paperwork was sent to us to sign and I believed they were trying to help.

We agreed upon a date of January 6th and I sent my payment to them on January 4th by Western Union Quick Collect.By the end of January, I received another foreclosure notice and I called Ocwen again. I was told that I was suppose to have the payment to them by the 1st and they would not be able to honor the "verbal" agreement that was made because I was ONE day late according to their records. I tried to argue with them but to no avail. I was then told that I needed to send them something in the neighborhood of 3 or 4 thousand dollars which included a payment a month in advance since we were behind. This was not possible.

Needless to say my husband and I filed a Chapter 13 in order to keep the house.in July we began sending them timely payments with the arrearages included in the Chapter 13.in December we decided to not go through with the Chapter 13 and but we continued to make our payments on time.

In April of we received another foreclosure notice and letters from a local attorney here in Maryland. No longer were letters coming from Moss Codillas.in order to avoid this foreclosure, we had to give them a payment of $2226.00 and sign a forebearance agreement with them. They also increased our payments by $50 per month with the payments being due the 1st of the month with no grace period.

What bothers me is that the additional $50 does not cover the arrearages and in July we will need to pay the arrearages in full or they will resume collection/foreclosure proceedings. Also, they are still reporting our account as late and foreclosure process started.

This really puts us in a bind because we can loose our house a year from now and can't refinance because of how they are reporting this on our report.in addition to all this, we have lost everything else (i.E. Both vehicles and other lines of credit) just to keep this home.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am at a loss and don't know what to do. This situation just stresses me out and I feel like just giving up and giving Ocwen the house they want so much. I no longer want to be with a company that can't HONOR their agreements. I feel as though they are going to take my home any day and my family and I will be out on the street.

Please i hope someone can help us.
