How crazy.in 50 years of living, I have never been charged a fee to get my money out of a bank. My mom taught me to use a bank checking account to safeguard my money. I do not bank at Regions and that is the problem. I have been in this branch of regions in Clarksville Arkansas at leasty 10 times in past 12 months cashing checks written to me by others for work I have performed. The checks were drawn on Regions bank, there was always suffient funds to cover the checks and the checks were cashed with no problem. Today I December I went in to cash a check for 65 dollars drawn on Regions Bank. Signed the check and presented my Arkansas Drivers License, only to be told by the teller that there was a fee to cash a check for a non bank member. But if I opened an account with Regions they would not charge me the fee. I asked the teller and asst manager how long this policy was in effect and they said for ever, Amazing, in that I have never been charged by Regions before. This is beyond crazy. Their customer is charged a check fee by Regions, Their customer writes me a check because they do not have cash to pay me and they want a record of the payment. Now regions charges me a fee to get my money out of the bank??? Regions collects fees from their account holder, Regions draws interest on the money their customer has in the bank that they loan out to others, and then Regions charges me to get my money that my customer owes me? It is amazing that everytime that you go into Regions they ask you to open an account. But when I tell them I am quite happy with the bank I use, they seem upset. Now they want to charge me because I will not open an account with them., My solution will be to not accept checks written on Regions Bank.
