Bought a 6 x $100 Mastercard Gift cards.
Went to buy a camera at Sams Club.
Sams club will not use more than 4 cards for a transaction.
Then went to Chickies and Petes to use the card for dinner with a group of people. Dinner was 250.
I handed the 100. Card but they would not accept it claiming id declined.
I called Mastercard only to find out that when using a Gift card in a restaurant, you must only use 80% of the amount because they automatically leave a 20% pad on the card for tax/tip.
This is NOT explained in instructions or terms and conditions nor explained to restaurants swiping the card.
I called to complain and got nowhere and was told it would be esclated to next level and someone would call back in 24 hours.
10 days later they called saying SORRY we messed up. Reitterated the policy of only 80% in restaurants and claimed Sams never swipped the card so they don't know about that.
Told me to use the card in another store and not a restaurant.
This is a scam as you can't use the full amount of gift cards in a restaurant. Cant use multiple cards in a business and all they say is "it is in the terms and conditions that you can read AFTER you buy the card" There are no refunds though after you read the policy!!!
