Nearly cost me my home and my good credit! Internet

I was contacted by phone about gov't backed home loan modification in Sept.By Hardship Center. My current interest rate is over 10% and I had been turned down by my own bank due to a past bankrupcy, and Kevin at Hardship said my bad credit wouldn't hurt my chances. They took my info. & promised I could get my principal lowered on my home loan, lowering payments by more than half.

They said they needed 1500.00 in advance, and since this loan would incorporate the 3 months processing time, I wouldn't need to pay my mortgage payment till the loan was instituted. They also discouraged talking to my mortgage company about it until they had all the paperwork loaded into the system, a period of weeks.

I, however, spoke to my mortgage company and applied for a modfication on my own, directly. My several attempts to get any paperwork about my loan had yielded nothing. I talked to Lori in legal dept. On Wed. Nov 23, saying I was getting calls about my loan going to foreclosure-what is my modification status, with no results. Over the holiday I tried to go to the website, finding instead BBB warnings of scams. Phone calls reached voicemail. I've worked so hard for years to repair my credit and survive on little to nothing with hard work and sacrifice, and to have these people ruin all that burns me up! I want y money back!
