Dubai attracts con artists and Pepe a master in this discipline feels
comfortable here. Jos Antonio Torrant Mateus is introducing himself as CEO of
the Abu Dhabi
based companies Berkana and Almanayif.
Pepe needs always money for covering basic costs, like
accommodation, car rent, etc. And when a cheque bounces you find him in prison
looking for new victims.
Pepe is talking about his enormous fortune of at least
2 billion dollars and is offering financial instruments for project financing.
He requests advance payments for bank fees, etc. And is announcing the arrival
of cash or guarantees always for the very near future. He is very creative in
inventing a gazillion of excuses when the finances dont arrive and even manages
to keep clients waiting and hoping for more than a year while still extracting
money for new fees.
Pepe is also active in brokering commodities. He is
offering for instance titanium but only with advance payments or fees for
inspection, etc.
We never saw him successfully finishing a deal but saw
victims loosing money for advance payments and fees.
When you come to Dubai and meet Pepe have
a nice chat but dont trust his promises!
