Sunlight Federal Credit Union apparently has a policy of posting deposits the following business day. Apparently I had a check try to clear the bank while the deposit was still pending. The account immediately went positive the next day, so I never received any communication from Sunlight and was not aware that there was any issue with my account. However, my debit card starting declining everywhere I tried to use it. When I contacted Sunlight they told me that they automatically shut off debit cards when an account goes more than $100.00 negative. They went on to say that they do not automatically turn the cards back on until the customer contacts them. They then told me that it was too late to have it reactivated before Monday morning. I explained why I needed access to my debit card and all they would do was keep offering to give me cash. I plan to switch banks first thing Monday morning.
