I am writing to inform others of my experience with H & R Block. I trusted these people and they failed me. They screwed up my taxes and made no effort to correct the problem. But they gladly took the 200 and some odd dollars that they charged me to do my taxes. I work hard for my money. I dont have enough to just give someone to screw me over.
My total refund this year was to be a little over 1200.00. After all fees my total refund was a little over 900.00. I got my first check back rapid refund and was told that my second check would arrive 2 weeks later. I waited 3 weeks before I called them to find out where my check was, only to find out that I was not going to get my second check. They told me that my taxes were prepared wrong and I would not get my money.
That was not my fault. I went to them because I thought that they knew what they were doing. I know absolutely nothing about taxes but I believe I'd have been better off doing them myself. There was no effort to compensate for their stupidity. They have my money, so they are done with me. This mistake on their part has caused a tremendous amount of financial dispair on my part. They have no idea what they have done to me. This has caused me to be out alot more money than my refund was to be. I'd love to know how they sleep at night.
I cause no trouble to anyone and I'm a very honest person. I guess it's too much for me to assume that everyone else is equally honest. If they are going to hire people to handle other people's hard earned money, they should make sure that they know what they are doing. Everyone I know takes their taxes there and they all know what happened to me and they will not be back next year.
