We purchased a new refrigerator from Fry's Electronic with 0% interest for 12 months. Took the total and divided it by 12 and paid $175/month for 12 months, never missed 1 payment. Ill and had surgery 05, paid all bills ahead of time. Promo plan due date is in fine print on the statement. As of 5/2 owed $129.80. I get our next statement and the billed deferred interest has been added in the amount of $293.98. Called the company, wrote the company a letter and they said they make no exceptions as to if I was ill and had surgery and that the promo plan due date is clearly stated on the statement. We purchased the item on 5/2.
The late payment warning and minimum warning are in bold and clearly visible. The promo plan due date is in fine print and not in the body of the statement. I feel we have been taken advantage of and mislead and that the print is so fine that you cannot even see the Promo Plan due date. We pay our bills and if you take $2075.80 and divide it by 12 months you get $172.98, where we paid $175/month. This is misleading and a ripoff.
