On 01/17 I received an unsolicited sales call from a representative of GoTech (Go Tec) Financial in St. George, Utah. The sales rep stated that if I choose to accept their credit card offer, they will send me an unsecured Visa and/or MasterCard with a credit limit up to $5000.00. The sales rep, a male with a middle-eastern accent, identified himself as Damian and stated, "All I have to do to receive the card (s) is pay a one-time processing fee of $219.00." The funds are collected through an ACH withdrawal.
After the sales rep gave me his sales pitch, he turned me over to an automated system to collect banking information. The recorded voice asked me for the following information; full name, address, phone number, bank name, bank routing number... I terminated the phone call at this point.
Damian called me back. I told him that I had received an important call on the other line and had to terminate the call in the middle of automated process. I asked him to call back in ten minutes.
I searched the internet for GoTech Financial and found numerous listings of complaints against GoTech, all of these listings stated the same thing; they had been ripped-off by these shysters. Everyone who registered a complaint on the usacomplaints.com web-site said they gave up the $219.00 and received nothing in return. After reading several of the complaints I realized this had to be a scam, 10,000 flies can't be wrong!
Damian called back about fifteen minutes later and asked me if I like to continue the process. They still needed my bank account number to complete the deal. I had informed him that I thought this was a scam and said, "You DO NOT have authorization to withdrawal funds from my account! I have better things to do with my money then give it to some undeserving crook!"
Perhaps I should have just hung up and not said anything, but after reading all those complaints, I figured he at least deserved an ear-full. I asked him his full name, he said his name is "Damian Martin", I figured it had to be an alias since he did not sound like a "Martin".
I telephoned the police in St. George, Utah to file a complaint; they informed me that I needed to file it on the FBI's Internet fraud web-site (www.ifccfbi. Gov) and with my local police agency. I asked the St. George police if 2 West St. George Blvd. Was a valid address and they said it was, but would not confirm who or what was located there. I obtained the GoTech address from the whitepages.com web-site and in the complaints I read from the consumer complaints web-site (usacomplaints.com).
Please look into this matter; these shysters need to be stopped!!!
