Extremely poor customer service

In 2002 I was having financial problems and this company gave me the impression that they were willing to work with me. Ha, ha, ha!

I called them approximately 40 times. I was given to the wrong department, put on hold, transferred around to who knows where, I was actually hung up on by a customer service representative twice and given 2 different phone numbers to try, one of which did not even exist. Once I found a competant and knowledgable person to speak with but when I needed to make a followup call, I couldn't speak to that person because no one will give you their name, rank, serial number or direct phone number. So I had to start all over again with my issue with another representative. This was very aggravating.

After 5 or 6 attempted phone calls, I started keeping a telephone log. Before I finally got the problem semi-resolved I had called 40 times and was placed on hold for a total of 18 hours, and I am not kidding. On one call I held for 40 minutes listening to their rediculous music and a message stating something to the effect, "your call is important to us, please stay on the line and a representative will be with you shortly". What a joke!

I was 63 years old at that time and I have to say that in my entire life I have never been treated so poorly.

How many Washington Mutual personnel does it take to change a light bulb anyway?
