Shell game send $5 check but sign up for auto club phone to cancel told 2 to 3 months

Shell send me a check for 5 dollars rebate it look alright to me put in on my desk for my next trip to bank. Two month later a recieve a bill for 7.95 the only charge on it. Phoned shell they tell me i Owe 15.00. The bill is for a auto club, I phoned them and was told it will take 2 to 3 months to stop. They said it was on the back of the check that i cashed. I, m a building contractor not easily fooled. They pulled a shell game on me, and i don't like. The number for the auto club is 1-888-872-2630
