I looked in the paper this morning, and found I'm being foreclosed on.
My previous loan servicer, Fairbanks Capital, sent me a letter at the beginning of June telling me my new loan servicer would be Ocwen Bank, and that they would contact me. A few days later, I got a call at work from an East Indian accent at Ocwen, asking for me to verify my name, address, a phone number (I gave my work phone — too many people calling my home phone) and e-mail address.
I did so, and was told I'd be receiving something in the mail shortly. Shortly has never come.
In August, I believe it was, I received a nasty letter from some lawyers in Denver telling me I was in arrears on my mortgage. I called them and told them to have Ocwen Bank contact me by mail with a statement, etc. They said they would.
I then e-mailed the Office of Thrift Supervision and included a copy of the attorneys' letter. I asked them how Ocwen could start threatening me when I hadn't received a single piece of paper that gave me an account number, dollar amount of my payment or even where to pay. A few weeks later, I got an e-mail back from OTS saying they'd contacted Ocwen and they (Ocwen) would be in touch with me.
To this day, I have not received one single piece of paper from Ocwen Bank! I go to my mailbox every day on my way home, and there has never, ever, been anything from Ocwen Bank in there!
Part of the problem I think is that there are several streets with the same house number as mine in town. To make it worse, there is an identical address, same zip code, except that mine is Blank Street East, and theirs is Blank Street West.
How can these people be foreclosing on my home, when they have never put forth any paperwork, any whatever? I would be happy to receive an e-mail from them, even! I gave them my work e-mail, which I read religiously throughout the day. Nothing! No effort! Just go snatch the house! What in the heck can I do?
