Who gets the money of the deceased

I've a little issue with this specific lender that's increased in to a good small debate. Our child was dead by Dec15 and little did I understand that her buddy was about the acct. First they explained that there is another title about the acct, later i returned plus they claim successor. Our issue for this issue is who gets the cash within the checking acct, me or even the successor? The successor might hit it and that I require it for burial costs not yet compensated. Support
