My daughter's father died in late October, leaving her all of his worldly possessions, including a Ford Explorer. Apparently, he was behind on the payments, unbeknownst to my daughter.
My children made several phone calls to Ms Dean at her office in Sebring, to see what the payments were, and make arrangements for the past due amount to be caught up. She did not return a single phone call, but flew to where my daughter is now living to pick up the truck and drive it back to Florida.
Ms Dean's attitude was basically "Screw them - we are taking the truck and auctioning it off". Ms Dean also discussed the circumstances of my ex-husband death with the probate attorney my children had retained, which caused the attorney to drop my children as clients; cost them the retainer fee they had paid the attorney, etc.
My children had be calling Ms Dean for months trying to get the payment amount needed to bring the account up to date. Ms Dean did not do my children the courtesy of returning a single phone call, and yet lied to their former probate attorney, claiming that she (Ms Dean) HAD been trying to get in touch with them. My children have phone records of their attempts to contact Ms Dean, but no messages on their home phone line and nothing on the caller ID from Wauchula State Bank.
We will be pursuing legal recourse against Ms Dean and Wauchula State Bank. The circumstances surrounding my ex-husband's death were horrible, but innocent survivors should not be further harmed by the unprofessional actions of Ms Linda Dean.
