LA Funding, Inc is not out of LA California, but out of Kingston Jamacia. They answer their phone, Cole Financial Services. I applied on line through a website that specializes in less than prefect credit. (I'm trying to start a business). This company called me offered a loan but since the amount was sizable ($150,000.00) they asked for security, personal property or a loss of business insurance preimum. The money is alway to be sent by moneygram to a name in Jamaica. This is suppose to be someone at the insurance company Smart Coverage Insurance. I was told after the initial amount was sent, that because of the size of the loan, more was required to secure the loan. 7%. Which I thought was reasonable based on the amount of the loan. Each time I sent a payment I was told that the money would be wired to my account the next day. Then the day it is to post I would receive a call that somethng had happened and more money was needed. I was even promised that I could pay part of the premium and the balance could be sent after I received the loan. I asked at one time if I could have documentation of the increase and told no because then the loan agent could not work with me. He was doing me a favor by allowing me to pay the balance later. I also asked for a refund after the second increase and told that it would take 30 business days to get a refund. After going up on the preimum amount several times, I informed them that I had no more money and sent them a letter requesting my refund in 5 days. I have not heard from anyone and each time I call, I am told that it has been referred to upper management and they will call me back. That was two weeks ago. Still not refund nor a return call. I have check with the Jamaica Business registers office. They have no listing of these companies. As of yet I have not proven if this company is or is not legit. Be Careful.
