American Financial Concepts
Misrepresentation at the beginning, lying at the end

AFC first represented to me that I will need to pay 40% max of my consolidated debt. After a lawsuit was filed against me (which I have found out NOT from AFC but from another company who offered its services), they waited until 5 days my response was due to advise that the judgment will be entered against me. The setllement offer they told me about was one-time payment of 70%.

They have a provision in their contract that they will return 15% of what you paid if they are unable to settle your debt. After I found out about this 70%, I decided to leave the program. NEVER AT ANY time they stated that this 15% will be returned to me. When I talked to their representative (whose direct number is in the rebuttal), he counter argumented "Too bad you did not mention it yourself yesterday when you left the program, too late now... And, by the way, we had another offer which I know about (have no clue why YOU don't know about it!) which is 50% and consists of 4 payments." When I offered to have a conference call with the person who worked on my account, he pretended he did not hear.

They will tell you that about 4% of the claims end up in lawsuits, and you might find yourself (surprise, surprise) in these 4%.

I am putting all the emails/phone calls/acts together and definitely contacting BBB about it.
