Lack of response to request for loan modification for over 20 MONTHS! Roseville, California

In December I started talking with FF about doing a refi/loan modification on my house. At the time, I was married with two minor children living in the home.
In September our loan would change to an adjustable loan, so being pro-active and trying to do the right thing, I contacted FF to find a solution. At the time, both my husband and I had good jobs with good pay, we just couldn't afford an additional $500 to $1000 a month added to our mortgage. I called FF EVERYDAY for over 3 weeks and was told, more than once, that our payments were current and there was nothing they could do unless we were at least 3 months behind in our payments.
Fast forward to April. My husband walked out so now I am a single mom with one minor child. I continued to try to "reach" anyone who could help me with my situation which at this point I could not pay the mortgage AND feed my child. I tried to send as much money as I could to continue to pay and FF sent my checks back (I kept trying) saying they would not accept partial payments. And, at the same time, I continued to try to reach someone at FF to discuss a solution for my situation.
In August of I hired a company, paying up front, to work with FF and get my loan modified. Since then, the company I was working with was closed down by the courts and a law firm specializing in this type of work was appointed by the court. I have cooperated on every level, supplying the same information over and over yet still no response from the lender to this day.
Fast forward yet again to February. I was laid off my job which I made excellent money and would have qualified for a modification on my income alone. At this point, it had been 14 months I had been trying to get FF to deal with me. I now get child support, unemployment and have rented out a room in my house in order to continue the modification which I have been told that based on this income it isn't a problem.
It is now August. I just received a letter from FF saying my modification has been denied due to, as they put it, "Financial application incomplete". Are you kidding me??? I have provided/given them everything except my first born child! How can a company run a business like this and get away with it??? It is beyond my understanding. I am beside myself with the incompetent people they have working their modification department and complete lack of response.
My attorney sent a letter to them saying "Sean" will not respond to ANY calls or emails sent. It ended up in a supervisors lap and guess what, "Sean" didn't have a choice but to return a call. The reply back from "Sean" was that he tried to call both myself and my attorney on several occasions but was unable to reach either of us. What a liar! I have my phone with me 24/7 and I NEVER received a call. All my life I have tried to do the right thing and have ALWAYS taken accountability for my actions and accepted the rightly due consequences, but come on... Is this how people should be treated? Especially when I am trying so hard to make it right??? I am an extremely resourceful person and will find a solution to every situation however, for the first time in my life, I am at a complete and total loss at what to do.
Any direction anyone could offer me would be huge! I just want to make it right...
