I am a small business owner operator severely impacted by the downturn here in the phoenix, az, metro area. I was referred to first data by my bank (another rip-off i found out later). They set me up, and i was operating fat, dumb and happy for about a year when another company contacted me and said i was paying way too much!
They said under obama's new plan that i should be able to quit my 2 year contract with first data, as it is very unfair. I have about 1 year left on the contract, and would like to change to something less of a rip-off! The other company told me i should be charged about 3%—this would save me about $1000 per year!
So far, i have not gotten a reply about getting out of their contract (their reply person is helen waite).
I am hoping that others like me all talking about these rip-off deals will get first data to offer a fair deal.
