The letter from "trustnet" promises to award me $50,000 as a winner in the "Consumer Promotion Draw" organized for all customers of Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Safeway in U.S.A. And United Kingdom.
The catching part is the check enclosed, payable to me for $4200, to cover cost of "non-resisdents tax" because the drawing was held in United Kingdom. Of course, no winnings without first contacting the agent, Steve Brown.
Unfortunately for State Farm Companies Foundation, apparently a legitimate company, the check looks real, and is signed "Woodrow Wilson" by golly!
Account numbers on the check: 002913706 071133269 270044388.
Trustnet also appears upon searching Google, as a legitimate company.
The letter and check came in an envelope with return address:
P.O. Box 567,4444 Hasting St, Burnaby, BC, V5C2E5 - with a Canadian postage stamp. It is also stamped "www.canadapost.ca and www.postescanada.ca".
Just another international scam, in my opinion.
