REgards... Civil... I read carefully about ROB'S EXPERIENCE AS WELLL..

I was at Meijer in Traverse City, and bought one of these Green Dot debit cards. I tried to buy at a the U-Scan checkout. It could not be completed, so I had to leave the checkout and grab a new card to buy. Since being in a hurry, I grabbed a package that is all in spanish, which I discovered after I left the store.

I put $400 on the card, and I went to meijerprepaid.com to activate it. Website loaded fine, but when I clicked 'Activate' - the next page would not load. I went to the official GreenDot website to try and activate it there, and same exact thing happened. So they sell you these cards, and block anyway to activate it online.

I called them not to activate it, but to cancel it. Much to my surprise I got to a real person in only 3 minutes. She was mexican, and with an all spanish package it is obvious who they are targeting these cards to, probably thinking if they can't speak english they will have a hard time bringing a lawsuit against them.

In short, the woman I talked to was rude, and refused to refund my money. I guess I will see if Meijer will return the card. If not I will just sue them for my money back. I am sure I will win, but what a pain in the butt.
