I am writing just after I contacted Wyse financial about a $50 monthly payment and instead of having the payment deducted atomically, I simply asked if I could use a credit card for my payment. What happened next was absolutely ridiculous.
I was told that I was the reason that the economy is so awful right now, even though the only reason I can't work is due to a catastrophic spinal injury that is immensely painful and causes my legs not to work, nor my bodily fluid control. I am paying what I can as a measure of good faith. Apparently that didn't matter. The woman I talked to came just short of calling me a deadbeat since I have had difficulty paying my bills because I am crippled. It's a classic case of blaming the victim, despite the fact that I receive a small amount of Social Security for the disabled each month for moth me and my mother.
Although I am rarely insulted, this was absolutely beyond the pale in light of the fact that I am handicapped due to a spinal cord injury, and thus cannot work or return to medical school. None of this mattered to this lady.
In fact, the only reason I had accumulated such debt is by having an enormous amount of medical bills, as well as having to live off my credit cards until I was able to go back to med school and/or work, which has not happened yet due to leg weakness and horrific pain.
Since all I make is disability from Social Security, the woman at Wyse told be to sell my car (already done), refinance my apartment (which I have never heard of) and manipulate my mother for money, who is herself disabled.
The gist of the posting is that this company, and particularly it's representatives, are extremely hostile and lack any sense of proper decorum and professionalism, and are in fact threatening. If you can, when this company is involved, go to the card-issuing bank directly instead.
I know that this site is for rip-offs, but this companies name came up so often that I felt I had to say something, since it's a corporation attacking a helpless person doing the best he can.
Lastly, I tried to explain to the woman that until I got injured lifting a patient I had a perfect credit record, but that obviously doesn't mean anything at all to this company. I hope others will read this and by-pass this company entirely if at all possible for they are the most insensitive, rude, dishonorable and empathetic financial collectors around, just short of loan sharks.
