My sister in law told me that she had found a website to apply for a loan with bad credit. So I applied after she had done it, she than told me that they had contacted her and it was a different company (Maxwell Group) than who contacted me. Henry Logan called me and told me that I was approved for a 15,000.00 loan and I had to send them 1,736.00 to secure the loan that it would secure it and would be put right on the principal. They than faxed me a copy of the contract and told me I only had a few days to get this offer and to borrow the money and they would get it back in my acct the next business day by 5:00. They told me I had to send the money by Money Gram to Canada and I asked why I had to send it to Canada and he told me because that way it would cut out the middle man and make it so the lender got the money right away and they wouldn't have to wait for any money or checks to clear so that way I could get my money.
I than looked at their website and they looked like a real business. So I went to Walmart and sent a money gram to Meredith Tovar in Halifax Canada and than I had to call Henry Back with the Reference Number, which I did and then he told me that the company has a 100% gurantee that my money would be in my account by 5:00 the next business day. So I waited and checked my bank the next day. The money was never there, and at about 5:01 Michael called and said that he was Customer Service Manager and that I had to send them another 1,736.00 because when the lender went to buy the insurance against my loan, and saw my credit score they needed more money to secure it. I than told them that I couldn't give them any more money and that I wanted a refund and they told me that I had to wait till the next billing cycle which would be April 27th.
I than started to think that something wasn't right, so I looked them up on the BBB and found that they weren't on there and that they had some complaints. I called them and asked about that and he said that they don't pay the monthly fee to be on the better Business Bureau. He than said that there business is registered with the US. Government.
So I called SC business fillings and they had no record and told me to call the county to see if they were registered with them, and than I called the county and they had no record and told me that I had to call the town of Greenville. So when I called the town of Greenville and told them what had happened and what the company name was, they told me that I had to contact my local police and the local FBI. So I contacted my local police and they told me I was out the money.
I am also going to be contacting the Halifax police and my State general. I than tried to contact Edgewood Financial again and spoke with Michael and told him that I couldn't find him as a registered business anywhere and we went back and fourth and he than told me that I was stupid and that how did I like getting scammed.
So please nobody have to go through what I have had to go through.
