I have a recurring Tivo charge every month this year. It has always posted to my account on the 2nd of the month. As this is what showed up on my online statement as well as paper statement I assumed (wrongly I have now been informed) that that was the day it came out of the account.in truth it is mysteriously pulled off the ledger, but will still show as money on your atm transactions.

What happened to me was that I paid my car insurance online and the money was pulled out of my account which had the money in it according to my online statement. Unbeknownst to me the mysterious 416.95 from Tivo that had already been pulled off my ledger, but had not been posted to my account put me in the red $2.41. So I was acessed a overdraft charge of 25.00 which was also pulled off the ledger but not posted to my account.

Now on the Monday that all this happened I checked my account online and according to the left side of the online ledger everything had been paid and the Tivo charge had not been acessed. On the right hand of the ledger it showed 14.54 to the positive.

The next day Tuesday I checked my account and the Tivo charge popped up and I was in the red 2.41. I immediately ran to the ATM and deposited 20.00 which according to my ATM receipt brougth my account back to balck with a balance of 17.59.

Now imagine my surprise when Friday I went to make a deposit of 200.00 only to find my account in arrears 64.41. When I inquired inside I was looked at by the teller as if I was stupid and immediately sent to a customer service rep who was dismayed that I couldnt understand what had happened after spending 10 minutes with him I was informed that he couldnt help me and that the guy I needed to talk to was at lunch and I could "call" him back at 1:30.

I went home and called at 1:30 and after bouncing around their telephone system was told he was busy. I said I would wait and after trying to talk me out of waiting finally got him on the phone ten minutes later.

Now i spent twenty minutes on the phone with this guy and was ran around about every way you could think of about how it was my fault that the information that was posted on my account statements might really be 2 full days behind and that while they immediately charge the fees when they are incurred that they my not show up on my account statements or even the ATM statements for 2 days.

Im not averse to paying for something that was my fault and maybe I should have made a deposit on Friday rather that waiting until tuesday, but according to my online banking statement the charges had not been acessed and my account was in good standing.in total I was carged a 25. Oo overdraft fee and another 33.00 overdraft fee and another 24.00 daily overdraft fee for essentially the same thing.in the end he dropped the daily fee and acted like he was doing me the biggest favor.

My problem is I was willing to pay the first 25.00 even though according to my online statement is wasnt acessed until after I made the deposit. I cant understand that if the money is paid for a debit card transaction at the time it is made then why cant it be reflected in the online statement or at the ATM at the same time. The only reason behind the delay is to try to make you think that you have money in there that you do not and to be able to access their outlandish fees for their inability to accurately reflect your ledger balance with you statement balance.
