I received a letter from Capital Acquisitions & Management Company (CAMCO) notifying me that they had purchased my Bank of America account and that they were attempting to collect more than $4,000.
I also received several voicemail messages from Troy Wilson telling me that it was "extremely urgent" that he get in touch with me.
The major red flag was that I've never had a Bank of America account. I started researching CAMCO and found multiple listings here on the Rip-ff Report.
I researched further and found that the city of Rockford, IL was actually touting the fact that "The Council of 100" played a significant role in the recruitment of Capital Acquisitions and Management Company (CAMCO), which put 200 jobs in Rockford's downtown River District in 2002 and plans to hire up to 300 more within three years. Let's do everything possible NOT to let this happen!
My research further revealed that a law firm that has already filed 4 cases against CAMCO and is interested in others. They indicated the firm would bear all expenses if a suit was filed and the firm would be paid from recovery / defendant's assets.
