Our office was visited several times by a representative of AppStar named Jason. We initially allowed him to write up a proposal on how we could save money by switching our credit processing to his company, AppStar. As our office is in the process of changing owners, we could not make any firm business decisions immediately and that was clearly explained.
Jason actually travelled to our other office 45 minutes away and sat, without an appointment, until the doctor there was finished with her patients. He did not explain to the staff what his business was there and spent several hours lurking in their waiting room until the doctor was available to speak to him. She told him she was not interested in this company...
We made the decision, based largely on the fact that the behavior of this representative made our staff feel very uncomfortable, that we would not be using the services of this company. They could not even clearly explain to us exactly how we would save the money by switching. He said that we would have to go ahead and switch and then we would see where the savings came from...
The representative, Jason, was back in our office today. I explained to him that we would not be interested in using his company's services at this time and cordially thanked him for coming by. He wanted to know whose decision it was, and why we did not want this service. He actually sat in our waiting room and called our office 45 mins away and spoke to the doctor and told me that she had said "it was fine with her" if we switched.
The doctor was busy in a meeting, and he wanted to see the doctor. I finally had to say very firmly that the doctor was not available now, that I was getting ready to close the office for lunch, that again we would not be requiring his services, and could i do anything else for him at this time, at which point he finally left, stating that he would "be back to talk to the doctor later."
Our office then received a telephone call from someone claiming to be Jason's supervisor, Sean. He spoke to the doctor, who explained that we felt that Jason's behavior was a bit pushy and that we would not be needing these services. When I returned from lunch I called this "supervisor" back to ask him to please not bother us anymore. The phone was answered "Hello?" — I had to ask if I was calling the company Appstar.
When confirmed, I asked this "supervisor" to please not send his rep back to our office and again said that we would not be requiring the services of his company (how many times do we have to say NO!!!?). He then asked if I was the owner of the office, to which I replied that I was not, and told me that he had spoken directly to the doctor and would only be dealing with my "boss" since I didn't have the authority to make this decision.
I explained to him that as the office manager I do have authority to make decisions WITH my boss regarding the way our office is run. He was extremely rude to me, was talking over me and raising his voice. I again asked that his representative not come back to our office and was told RUDELY and aggressively that they would not be listening to me because I did not have the "authority" to make the decision and that the representative would indeed come back to our office.
I am considering filing harrassment charges if this representative does not take a hint and leave us alone. I don't know how many times we can politely say that we do not need and are not interested in the services they are offering. I was not surprised to find another complaint against this company on this website. I am glad our office did not use their services. DO NOT do business with AppStar.
