Dear Sir Or Madam,
I am writing on behalf of my sister and her family that are close to losing their house. They have a mortgage with First Franklin and have been unable to get help for their loan, despite their website advertising they provide help. My brother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer in late January at the same time his business started suffering because of the recession the country has been slowly creeping into. He owns his own business which is laying tile. With the recession his business started to slow down a bit but ultimately came to a halt when he was diagnosed with cancer.
He began treatment immediately hoping the cancer will go away. As anyone knows this is a long process.in the meantime he has been unable to work full time or obtain work full time because of his health and again because people stopped spending money upgrading their homes and businesses. My sister returned to work full time but her salary barely covers living expenses. The house has lost value as all homes have in the last two years.
They are trying to get some sort of help from FF and have instead been slapped with higher payments because they have become past due on their property taxes. Is this their help for hardship??? Other mortgage companies have helped people with their mortgages, especially when medical problems are involved, its incredible that FF will not help.
Please tell me if there is anything that can be done? Is there a class action lawsuit against FF? I've read on different sites that there might be. I understand FF is part of the Merrill Lynch group, did they not receive help from the government???
Please advise as soon as possible, time is ticking and my sister and family may lose their home soon.
Thank you kindly for your attention to this matter.
Pamela
