I received a mailing that I was preapproved for a business line of credit from Direct Capital. When I called I was told that Direct Capital was a direct lender and that I could get my line of credit from them. They stated that for a $329.00 fee they would create a credit profile for me and help me find any problems with my report that would effect my credit. The major selling point was they could help me get the best rate by helping me "fix" any problems with my report. I had to wait a week to meet with one of their credit specialists and then all I got was a lot of very vague information about my report. When I asked specific questions about how to "fix" my report I was told I could buy another service for $2500.00 to help me fix the problems. The information I got was useless and then I was told they don't even do lines of credit but they are a broker for other institutions. It was one misleading line after another. When I called to tell them how dissatisfied I was with their service I was told "too bad" you got what you paid for. The financial "specialist" was willing to discount the service by $500.00 because I felt I had been misled but no refund. I could only get a credit if they got more money out of me. Once again a financial institution taking advantage of small business owners with misleading information
