My husband bought his house in June. His intial mortgage holder was Fieldstone. Within 2 months the mortgage had been sold to Olympus Servicing LP. He made approximately 6 payments then the mortgage was sold again to infamous Fairbanks Capitop Corp.
Shortly after this sell of his mortgage, he fell very ill. Doctors had diagnosed him with the onset of M.S. He had lost his sight and hearing on the left side and still to this day those functions have not returned. I am a self employed paint contractor and I have done everything humanly possible to stay on top of the mortgage payments, yet even though the reps at Fairbanks are aware of my husbands physical condition and that I am making the payments, we have encountered 1 posting of foreclosure, Fairbanks offered us a modification which put what we were behind on the back of the loan. We were 2 payments of 1560. And the modification cost us an additional 9,000.
We have also experienced the forced insurance scam that they have pulled on many people.
After reading the horror stories posted here I am nearly ready to throw in the towel on this piece of property. It isn't worth my husband's health or mine. This uncertainty is far too much.
