Unsympathetic and rude staff, confusing ATM deposit policy

Being a Rivermark "Member" is like a being in a new but doomed relationship. It all starts out hearts and flowers and then all of sudden; there is no more room to compromise.

Back in July, I had made several overdrafts because I was out of town and was unaware of my account activity. After returning, I went to the bank, and was told that they would do me the one time courtesy of reversing several of the charges that accrued.

Then just this month, after reading through the ATM deposit policy, I deposited one 50 and one 150 dollar check. Thinking, according to their policy, that 100 of that would post immediately to my account. No. Only 50, even though according to my receipt, I had ample funds to cover charges occurring.

I check my balance the next Monday, and although the check went through, I was charged 3 separate overdraft fees. Which caused me to overdraft again! And because of the reversals that occurred in July they are unwilling to reverse ANY more overdraft fees.

I changed to a credit union, thinking that they would have different policies, then a typical bank, less fees, that is what they advertise.instead, I got more stringent fees, rude customer service, I felt I was being blamed, and told that it was my fault that I over drew and I needed to manage my account better. The only lesson I learned, was that no financial institution can be trusted. Period.
