Made and completed re-payment plan... Year later got call from collections!

So I signed up for this stupid little credit card about 4 years ago. I was young, stupid and wanted to "help build my credit". The initial fees took up almost all of my $250 limit... But I used what I could and paid what I could.

I tried making regular payments on it but could never get away from the nasty APR and other fees that they just kept tacking on. So I stopped using it and stopped paying for it. Tossed the card in a box and haven't looked at it until today.

I got TWO phone calls from some collection agency saying that I owe them over $300. I remember back in November of '07, agreeing to start a weekly payment plan to get my balance down and pay it off. First Premier took $20 out of my checking account every week for about 3 months. After I was done, or supposedly done paying, I didn't hear a peep out of them. Until today.

I get two phone calls from 1-866-932-6805 and this guy on the other line tells me he's "calling on behalf of First Premier". First he verifies all of my information. Then tells me I have over $300 in collections that need to be paid and to top it all off, there was a charge on the card in JANUARY! My card? Expired in NOVEMBER. How the hell can you make a charge on a credit card after it's expired? I asked him this over and over again and could not get an answer.

I tried calling the 1-800 number on the back of my card and got a funky recording stating that my account is no longer being handled by First Premier and to contact Academy. I call this "Academy", get some really rude woman on the phone who tells me that she can't help me because my account has been taken back into the First Premier office.

They were talking about filing a dispute. I couldn't speak to anyone about filing this dispute, I have to MAIL it in. No. I don't think so.

If anyone has gotten through to SOMEONE and gotten SOME sort of result, please... Let me know.
