Cut my credit limit in half after I paid more than half my almost maxed balance

Imagine my surprise when I made a large, lump-sum payment after receiving a holiday bonus and Juniper/Barclay's chose to wait more than a week to fully recognize and apply the payment. I was actually accused of trying to pull a scam, something I have never done, nor would I do. That accusation was very offensive to me as I had some credit issues six years ago but have kept my credit clean since then.

To add insult to the entire parade of bull, they chose to chop my available credit in half, leaving me with an available credit line of just over $100 after making an $1800 payment to my prior balance.

The one hairball in the whole deal is that a mistake in a transaction pushed my card over the limit. The merchant has agreed that they made an error and are correcting it. If that is their reasoning for chopping my available credit in half then they have no basis for doing so.

I was told by their customer service (Nancy) that they were 'just doing some house cleaning' and 'with the credit crisis they were shortening their available credit lines'. Then "Oh, you didn't get that letter in the mail"?

These are sad times our country is going through but, as soon as I am finished writing this I am transferring my Juniper balance to a different card and will never again give them the satisfaction of earning interest on my business.
