Our company bought a Linkpoint 9100 that had motient network from Card Service International/First Data. After the POS - 250 unit ceased to have a network as well. The Linkpoint 9100 is no longer on a network since April shortly after we purchased our machine and can not be programed for wireless use contradictive of the letter we recieved in April.
It has been requested we become P.C.I. Compliant by way of a $19.95 charge on our bank account, however all sales have to be hand swiped on a knuckle buster and than run through the machine on a land line. The original contract for this machine is for 100% card swipe which the companies have made impossible on a wireless unit. We pay above and beyond our interchange rates a. 50 cent transaction fee per card and. 50 cents per batch out. We have an access fee for both Mastercard and Visa and a $9.95 customer service fee which is more like a "pay up stupid" fee.
We have been in business with this company for about 8 to 10 years now. We have never been offered any financial adjustments on equipment costs for their crappy business practices. Now we have asked them to cancel our service they have the nerve to charge a $75.00 cancellation fee. All of the contract paperwork is from Card Service International not First Data, First Data only appears on our billing statement that we recieve after the company has accessed our bank account. Amy and Jennifer CSR Supervisors think this is A Okay and will not negotiate with us. If you do not want "bent over the desk" do not contract with this company. They do business like theives.
