Stable Financial, approves you for a Secured Loan (with a deposit) Loan is never sent

On 7/21/08 I applied to several loan companies on line for a $5000 personal loan. I received a phone call on 07/24/08 from Ashley Brown who introduced herself from Stable Financial and informed me that I had been approved for a secured loan. I asked her to explain a secured loan. She said that with a secured loan you have to have either a co-signer, collateral such as a car or
home or a deposit. I asked how much of a deposit I would need for this loan, she said $325.00. I said ok I would send it after work. Once she receives the money it would be wired to my checking account in 2 hours and the loan documents would be mailed to my home address for me to sign and return.

Once I arrived at Walmart I called Ashley to obtain the information I needed to send the money. I was told that she would call me back in 15 minutes. She did return my call, I also noted that the number she called from was different. (289) 886-0920. She informed me at this time to use the Blue Moneygram form and send to Eddie Young. I asked why am I sending the money to Eddie Young? She said that he was the owner of the company. She gave me the city as Victoria BC Canada. Once this was done I was to call her back with the Money Transfer Control Number, so I did and gave her all the information that she needed. She said congratulations and that someone would call me back for my banking information. A week I tried to contact Ashley and I was given the run around, they would put me on hold for 15 minutes and then disconnect me or they would say Ashley was coming in at 3:00pm I would call back and they would tell me she was not in today or they would just hang up on me. One phone call
Ashley answered the phone, once she realized that it was me she hung up. This went on for 2 weeks.

On 07/30/08 I attempted to reach Ashley and the phone call was given to a Mr. Gene Callaway. He explained to me that I did not receive my loan because Ashley quoted me the incorrect amount. My credit is not the best so for the company to insure the money I need to send $725.00 which resulted in sending $400.00 additional to what I had already sent. Mr. Callaway was very nice and explained all the same information that Ashley had told me. He said I could have my money that day if I could send the $400.00.

I was extremely lire of this and I should have gone with my first intuition to possibly count the $325.00 as a loss and not send the additional $400.00. I really needed the loan for Bill Consolidation and if there was a chance to get the $5000 loan I was going for it. The $400.00 was sent to the to the same person and place as the first amount. I called Gene back to give him the
information that he needed, he replied that he was going to process my loan and he would call me back for my banking information. He did not call back I called him and I was told that he was processing loans and unavailable. I called him the next day and I got another run around, they said he was not in that day. I called the next day and they hung up on me because I said no one ever calls me back. I tried the next day and changed
my voice and said that I was my sister, and I told them that I thought they were a rip-off company and they tried to assure me that they were not. They told me (my sister) to call Gene the next day. I did just that and he answered the phone I tried to give him my banking information with no luck. He said that he was on another line and he would call me back.

At this point I was exhausted and realized that I was not going to receive any money and I had lost $725.00 that I did not have to spare. I made several attempts at calling both phone numbers I had to try and get my money
back but it was a waste of time I was getting you have the wrong number, computers are not working, phones are not working until it got to the point that when I dialed the phone numbers I got busy signals and a message that
said try your call again later. This whole ordeal went on for about a month. I decided to just give up it was pointless. If you call those 2 numbers today 12/10/08 the (886) 574-4971 is now a company called Goldline and the (289) 886-0920 you get a message that says this number is unavailable please try your call at another time.

I am putting my experience out there because even if you think that this will not happen to you, be careful because it just might. I would hate to see anyone else victimized as I have been. I hope going forward there will be some restitution and the employees of Stable Financial get what they deserve.
