Due to the current economic crises, most credit cards are raising interest rates across the board.
I received a computer generated call last night.
The recording started out by claiming they had been trying to reach us for sometime and this was our last chance (1ST RED FLAG) to reduce the interest rates on credit cards, if interested press #1 on the phone to speak with a live agent.
I did press 1 as I just wanted to make sure it was not a credit card company I do business with, and asked the lady who came online what credit card company she was calling from and was told "ANY CARD YOU WANT".
I immediately knew it was a telemarketing phishing Scheme said I was not interested and hung up.
If she had said a legitimate company name I would have called them myself using the numbers they provide on statements and back of cards.
The term for telemarketing fraud of this kind is called VISHING.
Do not give out any credit card information to these people!
