WaMu's management made some very bad decisions in the Mortgage area and were recently purchased for pennies on the dollar by Chase Bank.
Now, their customers are paying for it. They just doubled our interest rate from 9.99% to 17.99% for no valid reason. We've always paid this account on time and have never been over the limit.
They tried to give some bogus responses and said they sent a letter to opt out - but we never received it.
If you have a WaMu account, check your statements & rates closely from July - October.
I'm now paying this account off and closing it for good.
