Misrepresenting credit offer card as a bank creditcard & lying about it for over four months

Four months ago I received a 3"x4" yellow card stating I have been approved to receive a credit card with a personal limit of $ 4,000.00 to $ 7,500.00 "Guaranteed". I called 1 866-763-5543 and was told that I qualified for a bank credit card including a free satellite dish and receiver and no cost cellular phone!

They told me that they needed $ 376.00 from my checking account and needed the account number which I gave them. The person explained that the fee was to cover the processing fees and verify that I had a checking account for credit purposes.

I was also told it would be sent out immediately within two weeks to my address! A month went by and I called the number on the card and there was no answer! I tried the number 8 more times and finally got through and asked where my bank Creditcard was and the person gave a another number to call: 1 800 457-2617 9-5 Monday to Friday.

I called that number and asked where my approved bank Creditcard was at and was told it would be sent out within a week or two. Another month later I again called the second number and while on the line. It cut me off four times. I continued calling the number until finally three weeks later someone answered the number. I again, asked where my bank credit card was at and was told that it had been sent to me and to wait a week or two and it should arrive.

During that phone conversation I again asked if the card was a regular bank credit card and the person stated that it was! After a month went by I again tired the second number and again I was cut off four times until I got through and again I asked where my bank credit card was at the person stated that it was being processed that week.

I addressed the fact that I was told over a month ago that it was sent out to me and I never received it and the person was huffy with me and hung up on me! Now, I'm pissed, so I generate a letter of demand to the Bellevue address stating that I was advised by their telephone person my bank Creditcard was on it's way five different times and I never received it!

I stated in the letter that their advertisement stated 0% interest until 2003 and since it was four months after signing up I wanted to know if they were going to honor the 0% interest starting the date I receive the Creditcard. Again I called and was told it was on it's way and i stated that I wanted to talk with the manager and was told it was impossible because the person I was talking too was my only contact.

Finally I called to tell them to cancel my order and refund my money including interest for the last four months and was told it had been sent out and I should receive it within a week!

Again I waited two more weeks and called again and was told it was on its way and was given a USPS tracking number 9102251460017000281351. I got on the Internet and went to USPS and after having to open an account so I could access the tracking system I found a response stating it was being shipped from Ill. I checked each day and received the same response. After a week went by I again called the number now for the 23 time and was told
I should receive it this week!

Well, I did receive box in my mailbox and after opening it I found the following articles.

1. A catalog I never order that had no company name of contact point printed anywhere on it.

2. A HP Computer for $ 966.00 dollars w/4years Internet access.

3.1 free security system (36 months monitoring fee required)

4.1 free wireless phone (customer must sign up and pay for 2 years service plan as well picking one of three plans.

5.1 free dish network (purchaser must have a valid credit card to activate account and keep it active for 12 months!

A letter stating enclosed with some type of gray colored credit card good through 04! On the reverse site it states I have one year of the same telephone access from the date I receive the package. It also states "Right of cancellation and refund policy" subject to laws applicable in my state of residence.

1. I may cancel my order within 15 days of receiving it with no penalty or obligation.

2. If I feel I didn't get everything I authorized then call their service department at 1 800 457-2617 and a customer service rep. Will review my recorded message!

3. If it is determined that the offer was misrepresented and I do cancel within the fifteen day period, the entire payment will be made to me will be fully refunded!

4. To cancel this transaction I must mail or deliver (by fax) a signed and dated copy of my cancellation notice or sent a telegram to: First Gold c/o processing at P.O. Box 3052, Champlain, NY, 12919-3052.

5. In order to receive my refund I must return the entire First Gold package to First Gold to the above. Box address and failure to do so may void my right to receive a refund as per applicable laws.

Bottom line:

1. Each time I called I had to give the person my SS
Number.

2. Nothing in the catalog or attachments were free and each item
Needed secure Creditcard conditions including long term
Contracts.

3. Every time I called and finally got through I always asked The same question, is this a bank Creditcard and was told yes Every time!

4. They now have my banking access number, which I recently found That I am overdrawn and haven't used my checking account for Over three months!

5. The original yellow card was receiving and my conversations With their representatives continued their deception!

6. Reviewing the entire scan I can see how they will continue Ripping off other people if the people do not immediately Respond to cancel their order.

7. Since my checking account is now overdrawn and all of my Money gone I now have to find a way to pay for a certified Letter to their office canceling my order plus the postage Cost to sent their junk back to them.

Dear Sirs: On September 16

I agreed to your special offer to receive a credit card of a limit of $ 4,000.00 dollars if I purchased your system for $ 367.00 dollars.

It is now January 21; four months later and today when I called the 1800 457-2617 number I was given a USPS tracking number. Apparently the initial advertisement of 0% interest does not apply since it is now 2003!

I have called several times and was advised that the credit card was already sent out and today I find that it was just sent out yesterday! It seems that the advertisement you sent me is incorrect and I would like to receive an answer as to how I am going to benefit from 0% interest four months later? Or is your company going to honor the advertised 0% for the date I receive the card until four months of use? Needless to say I feel that spending $ 367.00 dollars of an item and waiting for a credit card over four months seems quite strange but I will wait until I receive the card and see what else will occur.

Perhaps it was a mix up or just too much selling and not enough customer care. Please advise me as to the remedies your company plans to use to make up for the four-month delay.
