Back in November I had signed up with Family Credit Counseling Corporation hoping the company would be reliable and get my debts lowered. After a few months they were able to get lower APR rates with my creditors.
When I called on FCCC on 14 OCT. 08 I found out that they had been acquired by American Debt Counseling, Inc. FCCC did not even let their clients know of the situation. When I spoke with ADB, they informed me that whatever payments I had made to FCCC they were not responsible for as they acquired my account only as of 14 OCT. 08.
Now I am wondering if my OCT. 08 payment will be disbursed to my creditors. What I also found out when looking at old credit statements was that FCCC had failed to disburse payments on 2 occassions, May and August. Therefore, I am afraid that I have been SWINDLED $2184, which does not include the start up payment I made to them in which they promised upon completion of the program that this amount would be reimbursed to me.
What can I do about this? Can I file a claim with the Attorney General Florida and BBB of Florida? Please help!!!
