(Day 1 September 30) This so called company approved me for a $20,000 dollar student loan at 6% flat rate no payment till October. They asked for a collateral payment of $1874 plus a money gram fee of $36.04.'Jason Green' sent me the contract I read it over and signed it and faxed it back to them. He said he needed get the signed contract in order to give me further instructions. He seemed so nice.
He calls me back when he receives the fax, and say's you should receive the $20,000 dollars on October 1 before 5pm EST. He then gives me instructions to send the collateral via Money Gram to a lady named Deborah Harrison in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and to call him back with the money gram reference number. I called him back with the number and he said that I was all set and that I should get my money October 1 before 5pm est.
Day 2 October 1st
At about 11:30am est a guy named Stewart Mackey (Customer Service Manager) gave me a call and said there was a problem with my application, and that I needed to give them an additional $1874 to secure the loan. I flipped out and said that I needed this money back and I want my loan. I finally told him I could do it and I sent the Money Gram to Deborah Harrison again for $1874 with a fee of $36.04.
Day 3 October 2nd
I got a phone call from Howard Bennett (and he is the highest person at the company that clients speak with supposedly) stating that my lender backed out and he found a new lender for me but I would have to send an additional 22 months of payments to this new lender and they would also receive my other 2 payments from the previous lender that backed out and I wouldn't have to pay for 44 months or 4 years. I then sent $3780 to Sandra Calloway in Minto, New Brunswick, Canada with a money gram fee of $75. I also got Howard Bennetts to put into writing that I would receive the total amount of my student loan by October 3rd. (I was getting in over my head at this point)
Day 4 October 3rd
I received a phone call from Howard Bennetts stating that I had to pay a GST tax on 5% of my loan since it is coming from Canada. I looked this up and it is a legit tax. I sent $2000 to Sandra Calloway again for the tax and was promised my money by Monday, October 6th. (I borrowed all of this money from Credit card cash advances, my checking acct and my boyfriend's checking account.)
Day 7
October 6th
I got a phone call from Howard Bennetts stating that I needed an additional 5% tax and that's when I completely flipped out and said that I wanted my money back now! He stated that I would receive my $10,000 on 10/28 directly into my bank account. I received a letter stating this as well. They are liars and scammers!!! I was just trying to finish my bachelor's degree and I couldn't get the usual student loan (i need more than a federal loan) I get because of the economy! Now I am out of $10,000 and in a lot of trouble! I need help!
I contacted the FBI Internet Fraud, Ft. Lauderdale Police, my local Police, the Attorney General and filed complaints with all of them. I also talked to a lawyer who will be sending them a letter. I want this to stop and I want my money back!!! Please don't fall for this scam!
