In April I joined Equity account mgt. With the promise that they would save me money by getting my percentage rates down on my cc's. Over a year i dealt with a financial consultant named Ronnie Shank. He stated to me that the credit card companies I carried would not deal with third parties. He then offered to help find me a loan in which I could consolidate my cc's.
I stated that "I can do that myself" and he completely agreed. He told me I should be able to get a refund and transferred me to a supervisor who denied the refund. The supervisor said they would need to help me get my credit in better shape and then has me sign a power of attorney for them to take action.
In the meantime i guess my contract with Equity Account Mgt expired, so I was told on May 14 NONE of the paperwork I have states that anything about an expiration date nor did anyone tell me this! But even though I had paperwork stating a full 100% refund... I got the run around. I kept calling and spoke to a Mike Cross who told me they couldnt help me, the company moved.
They wouldnt give me a contact number or any other information because I was expired. I was at a dead end. I called my credit card company and tried to dispute the charge but too much time had gone by and they couldnt help me either. I wrote the company a letter and faxed it and mailed it... Never recieved a response.
Its really a shame that people get taken advantage of like this. Its been another year since I last spoke to anyone about this because I dont know what else to do. If anyone can help I be greatful. At this point its not about the money its about justice. This shouldnt be happening to anyone!
