ATM is not always free as advertised

The WAMU Internet advertisement for FREE ATM withdrawals "Worldwide" actually cost 3% of the transaction which is more than most other banks. For WAMU, it becomes a definition of "worldwide".

The excuse, this is a MasterCard charge. But MasterCard says that is fat above their rate and it would charge WAMU the same if it is a domestic ATM transaction.

Carefully worded, your account says, "Transaction Fee", WAMU nor MasterCard is mentioned.

This is flat out fraud. If I use the WAMU ATM card in Mexico or here in Costa Rica, it costs me 4% of the transaction. But their online advertising clearly says "free worldwide"

Guess where we will not be banking.
