Countrywide Home Loans
Going out of Business Sale, Please don, t include me

I received a letter from CountryWide dated the end of June. The first paragraph said my home was delinquent and that "it has been referred to Countrywide's Foreclosure Management Committee for review." The next paragraph concluded with "the foreclosure process may take as little as four months to complete, it's important that you understand then ways in which this process may be stopped." Following this the four standard options were outlined: Repayment Plan, Loan Modification, Short Payoff & Full Payoff.

Obviously I was aware I was behind. As of June 1st I was four months behind. This was due personal extensive medical problems which has led to full disability. I had already sent one full payment in mid June and one full payment the beginning of July prior to receiving the letter described above. I then sent one more full payment after receiving this letter. 3 days later I called for a current statement balance to bring my account to date. I was informed my mortgage was in the foreclosure process and that the decision to begin this process was made well before my receiving the letter dated the end of Jume.in addition to this I was informed a sale date was already set for early Sept. The only contact from the company regarding the foreclosure process was a single certified notification combining both the Default and Sale Date, sixteen days after the foreclosue decision had been made at CountryWide.

In the course of all this they sent one payment back causing me to be 4 months behind. They refused to process but did not return the two other payments until I demand for them to return them, which ultimately resulted in me now in being 5 months behind. I have spent over 12 hours on the phone with CountryWide with no resolution. I have been told by CountryWide Reps there is no customer service department, no dispute department, no attorney available to discuss legal question regarding the foreclosure, that the forclosure decision was not done in office but at a contracted law office, there is no mediation officer avaiable to me, and that my only options are the ones they offer me.

I like most people base my financial decisions on the information provided to me by my lender. Their last letter to me indicated I was "referred" and up for "review". Not in the Foreclosure Process. It also indicated to me that if I were to end up in the Foreclosure Process that it "may take as little as four months to complete" not 60 day to a Sale Date.

To be honest, this only scratches the surface of the misinformation, misdirection, mishandling, rude behavior, intentional deception, dishonesty, blatant lies, and total lack of customer service that I have been dealing with.
