Crestview Lending Group Loan Fraud.
My wife and I were online looking for a personal loan one day, because she was going back to school and needed some money to help pay the rest of her tuition and school supplies. So we tried several places and of course with bad credit your not going to get very far. We applied at Lending Tree, witch then the next business day I got a call from Crestview Lending.
I believe the persons name was John and he proceeded to tell me that they tried to get a loan from different banks and was unsuccessful. Then he tried some private investors, and was able to find one in Canada. He went on a told me that they were going to need a $900 down payment that went toward insurance on the loan since we had bad credit. I told him that I did not have $900 to send and asked if the money could me taken out of the loan and the remaining balance sent to me. He said they did not do it that way.
I was able to come up with the $900 from a relative and promised it would be returned to them in a couple of days, because that is what I was told the loan would be given to me if I sent the money via money gram.
The next day is when I got call from Jeremy (Customer Service Manager) and he told me that the private investor did not pull my credit and did not realize how bad it was and was unable to get the insurance on the loan. Then he said it was going to be another $900 to purchase the insurance. He also said if this is not an option then we can send the money back plus the $14 or $15 I spent on the money gram. I would just have to wait until the end of the billing cycle before they sent the money.
So I waited and of course I received nothing on the day I was supposed to. I tried to call the number back and got Hello, Goodbye from a recording.
I know some of this is my fault, for not researching the company and I guess I was thing that I would not be scammed. Now not only are we struggling to pay for my wifes school and supplies I still owe my relative $900 and put them into a bad situation.
So if you are reading this or have read others like this I pray you did not send them the money yet, because the bottom line is you will not see it again.
