Unum is the LAST insurance company on the planet to do business with from a policyholders viewpoint. They have been fined MILLIONS of dollars for fraudulently denying policyholders claims and operate in a corporate culture that believes it ia ABOVE THE LAW.
I filed a claim in May for an injury sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Despite the findings of two M. D's stating that the injuries were caused solely by the motor vehicle accident they denied the claim =. Reason, preexisting condition. After hiring an attorney and filing an appeal they "DISCOVERED" It was NOT a preexisting condition. They now claimed i was not eligible for disability as I was not disabled even though incompetent due to heavy medication and bedridden 20 hours a day.
