At the end of April I received a call on my cell phone from this company stating that I would be approved for $6000.00 credit limit for a fee of $200 that would be deducted from my bank account on May 2nd 2008.in return I would get the $200 back in payment coupons plus an additional $100 to use toward my payments on the card. Well I was really stupid and fell for this SCAM!
I called National Benefit Exchange yesterday (5/13/08) to find out were my card was and I was told that they had mailed me a form that I needed to fill out and return to them. I advised the gentlemen on the phone that I did not receive anything from them and he said that he sent it to my PO Box 6059.. I said that that was not my PO Box number, that was the last 4 didgits of my phone number? He said he didn't know how that got messed up and that he was making the correction and would get my card out to me as soon as I returned the paper that needed signed. He asked if I had a fax machine so that he could fax it to me and I could get it right back to him. Well needless to say. I sent back the fax with my signature and my SSN #.. I can't believe I fell for this.
My husband is in law enforcement and I did all of this behind his back. I have fallen behind on my other credit cards because with this new one I was going to do a balance transfer. Omg. How do I expalin this one. My stomache is in knots and I am so freaked out.
I tried calling NBE back today and never got thru I was on hold for about 23 min. And then just gave up and started looking for a website for them and this is when I found everything on the Rippoff Reports.
I am going to call my bank today and see what they tell me.
I will continue to post with the results.
