I have pretty bad credit and I was honestly hoping someone would give me a credit card to rebuild my credit. One afternoon i was picking up my mail, I received a credit aproval notification for $4000.00. It read the following: " Dear % %: we are notifying you that your credit card has not been activated.
Our records show this card to have a line of credit of $4000.00. Pls call 1888-817-4795. It had an expiration date of 72 hrs after the date it was sent, whis in my case is 10/17/02.
After going through the small, with basically with no information yellow pc of construction paper i decided to call.
When i called a vey nice lady answered. She asked me for my confirmation munber on the card. She asked me also for my bank account number and all the basic information is required when you are makeing a credit application. She put me on hold, when she came back to the phone line she told me that there were some things she needed to say before we end the call.
She said so many things at a speed that breaks a record. If I think I talk fast she talks a thousand times faster. I thought i had understood that there would be a one time fee of $99.95. I agreed to it. She gave me her name along with a confirmation number. She told me that if i knew of anyone who needed a credit card to refer them to them. She also mentioned that i'd be receiving my credit card within 30 days.
I check my mail every day waiting for my card. It has been almost 60 days and nothing has been mailed to me and a fee of $199.95 has been withdrown from my checking account. I have been trying to call the 188 # I have in the card and it seems to be disconnected. Now I unnderstand why their offer expires. I am sure their toll free number expires too.
Don't let anyone fool you. Like I read somewhere: "If it seems too good to be true, it is" Now I can't get a hold of anyone. I don't much care anymore about my $200.00. What makes me more upset is the way they are taking advantage of so many people. I will do as much as I can to get to the end of this situation, since they are getting rich with our money by giving us nothing but terrible times.
