Please whatever you do, don't send this company any money. I sit here typing this in tears (I have been crying for a couple of hours)... Everything has fallen apart for me. Especially in my situation. I received a phone call two weeks ago from Gary Malton telling me that I had been approved for a $30,000 loan. I was shaking as he told me I had been approved because I knew that once I paid off all my bills, I would be able to provide a stable living environment for my kids. He told me that all I had to do was pay $792.16 to High Pointe and I would receive the loan in 24 hours.
I repeatedly questioned Gary about this being a scam and he told me that it was not. He kept on congratulating me and told me that he would fax over the documents for me to sign. When I saw the documents, I showed them to some trusted friends who told me that it seemed legit and that all my prayers were about to be answered. I still was in shock as I tried to figure out how I would gather the money. I decided not to pay my rent, nor my electricity bill, nor my cable, car insurance, etc., I knew that I would have the money per the reassurance of Gary and that the money would be in my account within 24 hours. I told my kids that things were about to come around for us and that we would be living a little better than we did... The kids were even excited. I was so happy that I knew I would be able to better provide for them.
When I got paid on the 2nd of May, I called High Pointe. I was not able to reach Gary (he was involved in a car accident) and I was just so "lucky" to be put in touch with Larry A. When I spoke to Larry, I told him that I wanted to pay with my debit card and I was told that this was not possible. I needed to go to WALMART and make the payment. I found that to be weird but being in such a desperate state, I reluctantly went to the WALMART. Larry told me to call him when I got to the WALMART. He said he would be waiting for my call (i'm sure)...
When I called, of course Larry was waiting for my call. He told me to send the money through some type of personal money gram so as not to incur business fees and that the lender would pay me back the fees and to save my receipt. Gary then arrived in the office and Larry transferred me to him... Gary tells me to make out the money gram for $785 and to pay the other fees associated. I paid out $799.16 to a Gina S. Artuzi (some type of account manager) in AJAX, Canada... (Larry couldn't even prounounce Canada)... I even let that slide. I again asked him was this a scam and he said no and explained to me the way a direct deposit works... He said that I would have the money by midnight.
When I got back to work, I couldn't even eat... I had made myself sick. My co-workers asked me what was wrong... I just told them I had a nervous stomach... I was just praying that I hadn't made a mistake... If I had, it was going to be a total disaster. I got up this morning and checked my account... No money at all!!! I am completely sick... Of course this morning, I checked on-line and saw the rip off report and almost threw up (thank God I haven't eaten anything since yesterday)... I checked on-line for reports regarding this company and even checked the better business bureau... I did not see anything. I figured this co. Was legit.
I tried sending High Pointe an e-mail - you can't even do that on their website anymore. I even called Gary and left a message today. I hate to say this but I wish his accident was way worse than what it was. Gary stayed on the phone with me during the transaction at WALMART telling me about his minor fender-bender and how his kids were going to be upset when they saw his car, etc. I can't believe that I fell for this. I guess Gary and his kids are doing well while I am going to have to find someplace else to live now... They will scam anyone... Even someone who was in a desperate place - I have kids!!! High Pointe will definitely get theirs... What goes around comes around.
