Misapplied my direct deposit for 4 days —no explanation—no apology

Let me begin by saying that I have been a rushcard member since 2005. I initially signed up due to my inability to qualify for a regular checking account with my credit union. I had no real issues with the card because I only allow a small portion of my paycheck to direct deposit. I was too paraniod to deposit my fulll paycheck. Nonetheless I deposit $300 to rushcard and the rest to my credit union.

THE DRAMA
My direct deposit posted Thursday 3/13/08 like clockwork. I called to verify the deposit and did not think anything more about it. The next day was Friday which was "pizza" day at my house. When I called to order I was told that my card declined NSF. I was puzzled because I had not used it.

My first thought was that I was a vcitim of fraud. Not at all. The stupid company misspalied my deposit as a "debit". I called for them to fix this error immediately. I was told by the very hard to understand India customer service reps that they are immediately notifying their corporate area. What a joke! Since it was a Friday, it may take until Monday because that department was closed!

I requested a call back from a supervisor. I received a call back a gentleman Mr. Patrick on 3/14 who let me know that he was powerless to do anything. I also believe that I detected humor in his tone that I was so upset about a situation that I had no control over. I let him know that this was unacceptable and that they should take it more seriously when customers get feed-up. He seemed like he could care less.

Well they did not correct my account until Monday 3/17/08 at 11:30 am EST. How pathetic. I asked for a return phone call from a supervisor because I wanted compensation for my inconvenience. Well, I received a "returned call" message from Mrs Myatt on 3/19. When I called back to speak with her I was told there was a notation on my account that they do not compenstate for inconvenience.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and I am glad to report that I let them know I am closing this account. I have a local bank WOODFOREST National Bank and they have a second chance checking account —no credit check— $7.95 a month w/debitcard. They also have a internet online account for those who are not local. Not trying to promote anyone, but you have to send a message to company's who do not care about how they treat people.

My next stop is the better business bureau. Sorry Russell Simmons but you have more money than I do, so I doubt that you will miss my contribution.

BY THE WAY I ADDED UP MY FEES and they are about $15/mos approximately
$180 a year. Very Expensive Account! For no compensation for inconvenience.
