I received a letter from Eltman, Eltman & Cooper aka Erin Capital Mgt stating that I owed them $2,500.00 on credit card debt.
I wrote them back (certified mail) within the 30 days required by law dispuiting this claim and asking them to send me proof the debt along w / the request for them to handle it from the original creditor.
30 days went by I never heard from them. So I wrote them again (certified mail) asking them to take me off any debt collecting list since they have not given me any information I had asked for.
They respond back with a letter and a copy of a judgment filed against me for the $2,500.00 and some change. It said Eltman, Eltman & Cooper won by default. Due to me not showing up to court and that I was served w / paperwork to go to court.
So here is the good part. The letter I received from them was dated 11/28 and the copy of the judgment has a stamped date of 10/18.
So they got the judgment by not sending me any paperwork and now that the judgment in effect they send me a letter asking me to pay when I can no longer fight it. Sneaky Bastards.
I am now seeking Legal Help. They cant do this. This is totaly against the law.
